What is Brockton Community Development Corporation?

"We believe that God has special plans for Brockton."

Mission of BCDC

The Mission of The Brockton Community Development Corporation is to help improve the quality of life in our community and facilitate the economic recovery of the Brockton Community in a way that will help convey the compassion of Jesus Christ.

This will be accomplished via the implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy that will be fiscally responsible, sensitive to the needs of the community and consistent with sound Christian principles.

This strategy will include, but not be limited to:

1. Acquisition and development of underutilized and abandoned commercial properties.

2. Reduction of Brockton’s abandoned/foreclosed housing stock to be sold to low income families and families wishing to remain in or relocate to Brockton

3. Job readiness, training, and job placement

4. Adult basic (ABE), and continuing education

5. Micro-entrepreneurial development and corporate relocation.

6.Character-based leadership development

7. Initiatives that would improve the quality of life in our community in a holistic way

8. Economic empowerment of the local urban church.

 Principles of BCDC

Relocation: (Based on the incarnation of Jesus Christ – Philippians 2

Reconciliation:  (based on the God given assignment to build bridges between people groups as well as between people and God.  Cor. 5:18-20 Gal 3:28)

Redistribution: (based on the example of the early church where resourced individuals voluntarily shared their assets to help those in need Acts 2: 44-45.)

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city...Pray to the  Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper!”   -Jeremiah 29:7
